Richard, Cengiz, and Christina met at The Wine Barrel on Saturday night. The next day Cengiz asked Gordon to do some translation and help organize some decorations for Cengiz’s new apartment. They returned to the show room to find Richard, Christina and Nancy returning from afternoon tea. I turned up just in time as they were organizing a special dinner and talking about which restaurant we would visit.
Richard suggested the beautiful ‘Chang Jiang Mei Shi Cheng’ Yangtze River Food City on Zhongshan 5 Rd in Shi Qi Zhongshan. I had passed by this restaurant from Kaiyin on the way to town and had offen wondered what was hidden behind its sparse façade.
This is a very out of the ordinary restaurant. As we entered I noticed the beautiful gardens hidden behind its walls. The food was plentiful and delicious and I partook of my favorite Zhongshan Roast Pigeon, a special request I had made to Richard.
