'Stone Lion' is Little Mountain Arts Association's first piece in the Macau Folklore series. The story revolves around a spoiled mischievous boy who, because of a wayward act, accidentally enters a time tunnel . . . to arrive in A-Ma Temple hundreds of years ago. He meets a stray dog and helps save two stone lions guarding the temple. Finally, the boy and his little pal discover the mysterious story behind the two stone statues . . .
The play - directed by local artist Billy Hui and written by young writer Joe Tang - addresses the importance of humans living in harmony with nature in a humorous and intriguing way. Chinese performance arts elements are also included such as lion dances, martial arts, folk songs, Chinese dance, etc, lending vitality, joy, hope and love to children.
