Work in Shenzhen, live in Hong Kong

Hi

I was wondering if it was possibe to work in Shenzhen but live in Hong Kong. I am currently living in Zhuhai with my company looking at opening a new office with Shenzhen a potential. We are English and currently my wife is unable to work without a permit however in Hong Kong she has a number of contacts and would be able to be employed. This would greatly benefit us plus we have a number of friends in Hong Kong.

My concern is the practicalities such as border crossing, stamps in passport, etc. For stamps I was wondering if possible to get a HK residence card which would solve that problem?

Any comments would be appreciated.
