So sad. We rarely go there and recently just cause they have minced beef which Carrefour doesn't have. I guess will have to shop for it elsewhere.

well , Mery Christmass to all , Next to mesote in huafa new town there is a superarket. And today i bougth a very good peice of beef , that he minced it in his mincing meat machine 2 times as i asked him. Result: perfect burgers and bolognese in super afordable price 24rmb per jin.So go there . also his vegetables are perfect in freshness and prices. and you dont need to have a vacation trip to the other side of the town. but the basic. Strawberies and staf or fresh cream you need to go to the fresh market in Chao uang road.

I was at McDonalds this morning for breakfast and Jusco looked like it was business as usual.

@ Chef Latous.....but Huafa New Town is a vacation trip across town for many of us. Not everyone who visits this site lives in Huafa XinCheng, you know.

I went to Jusco this noon because I wanted to buy some Xmas wrapping paper, but mostly because I took bigblack's bait. Absolutely nothing going on, lots of customers as usual, and I asked one of the workers when it was going to close, and I got a very emphatic denial...bu hui de! bu hui de!

Prices seemed higher though...chicken breast that used to be 14-15 rmb was now 19-20. I guess it is that time of year.

Well for those of us that live in the old Xiangzhou and Jida areas it is beginning to look like Carrefour timed the opening of their new store in Jida just right. Guess if Jusco closes all that business will go to them.

But what about Sushi-Oh??? In my opinion the best sushi joint in Zhuhai....would hate to see them close because of this Jusco fiasco. (Even though I DETEST trying to find a place to park at Jusco).

BTW, the Jida Carrefour will mince ground beef for you if you don't mind a rough mince....they will use knives and chop it as opposed to running it through a mincing machine. I bought some the other week and had them mince it and even though it was chopped a little rough it still made great burgers.

I really do not like the 2 floor layout of Carrefour. It is just not convenient to get in and out.

But I do go there frequently now since it is in Jida. Just wait and see what happens to the prices if Jusco does indeed close.

I just talked to a good friend who has some friends working in Jusco. It doesn't seem like it's closing, just Yang Ming Plaza is having issues with all the shops they are renting the place to. Jusco is operational at the moment.
I guess with all the controversial rumours and news people share on local nets it is simply a waiting game :-)

cheekygal, your friend's friends didn't seem to have told the truth!
Conflict happened again on Dec 24th according to the report of local media!Till now only 60% of the mall owners agree with Jusco for the extention, the other 40% insist on getting the mall back! http://www.zhnews.net/html/20111224/145834,332304.html

Perhaps they don't know clearly themselves what is happening :o) Jusco is only one supermarket there, but then biggest. There are lots of others that are having disagreements with Yang Ming Plaza. Pity - Jusco makes that whole place popular. Let's just wait and see :o)

I saw on the TV, they will start clearance sale on Monday so I went there today, but I am very disappointed because there is no sign for clearance sale, the price is still high, many people were shopping as usual. :)
