Okra!!!! in Zhuhai
I know it doesn't sound like much to get excited about but for a boy from the southern USA it is a BIG deal.
Okra has been located in Zhuhai. The new Carrefour store in Jida and Jusco. They are in the "green" vegetable sections of both stores. My guess is that the farm that supplies "green" vegetables to these stores decided to try okra and sold it to both Carrefour and Jusco.
I have lived in China for 7 years and no one had even heard of okra! I am so happy....okra, I have missed you so!
Never had Okra before, what does it look like?
Just bought some in Carrefour... hope its good :)
They often have it in Chaoyang market, on the 2nd floor. But you have to ask the vendors.
From time to time we do Okra soup in Azur and it is a big hit. We make it Turkish style... So if you never tried it, you should come next week and check it, it will be on a lunch special..
Kind of looks like a green pepper but it is not hot.
