Cengiz told me that on the next coming Friday he wanted to make a party to celebrate his new Autumn / Winter collection for 2011- 2012. So I passed by on the way home to see if I could help him with anything. He is pretty busy getting organized with the nice products. For example he prepared eight months ago his legendary strawberry and chocolate vodka with our friend, Andrei Doukhninn.
He told me he created this vodka to use as part of his promotions. The vodka is organic and comes from Andrei’s Russian background, nicely bottled and together with the new brochure, he has 8000 to give away.
I know that Cengiz tried to sell this vodka at all the trendy venues around town but with everyone entrenched in the big name brands, he decided it was easier to give it away. I like this idea, because I love the vodka and it is nice to see Cengiz keeping a positive attitude about this 'slight' overstock.
Cengiz feels that after only six months in the showroom his product is strong enough to be launched in the real shops, located in the best and most fashionable locations such as the Zhongshan Hilton Plaza, in March and in what will always be the most beautiful and enticing location in Zhuhai, the Hua Fa New World shopping plaza at Christmas .
Cengiz told me that there is only one way to make a label in China! To be in the best locations with the biggest labels, otherwise you will not be taken seriously. You cannot be taken sincerely, until they see that you are equal, if not better and willing too compete with these well known labels on their own turf.
He told me he needed to start the showroom and present to the center management, of these high fashion outlets, that his product was of the highest quality, presentation and his management skills worthy, to gain entry to these venues. Starting the showroom was only the beginning, allowing him to learn the market and gain acceptance to these premium selling environments. He knew he had to play the big game as they do not come easy and have to be earned.
I walked in the door of the showroom to see the collection displayed and was blown away, with the colors and quality on first entrance. Leather jackets made from the finest quality and softest leather. Cengiz obviously knows that to get a women to spend she must be able to touch and feel the quality of the fashion she wishes to buy.
“They need to feel the touch of money.” he said. “I know what kind of feeling, they will have, if they walk in my clothes because we need a great wardrobe to feel ourselves in every environment we are.” “This is Just Me & Mine” he stated. I remembered that I had read these words before in his Philosophy of Fashion.
To celebrate this new collection he has invited his friends to join him this Friday night the 11th November 2011 at shop 27 Zunyu Ocean City at 8:30pm for his after dinner launch.
His beautiful models will be showing off a sample of the range that will take him from showroom to boutique in the high end of fashion.
