Delta Weekend Advisory

Briefing

Fresh air supply. Red ballet. Three pianos. Sarah Chang meets Tzimon Barto. And the finest of Indian films.

In the rear-view mirror:

We heard about what you did last weekend... Well, not really. We spent our weekend at home reading. We didn’t catch the Adidas boxing in Zhuhai. Or go to the symphony in Guangzhou. No clubbing in Shekou. No day-trips to outer Delta cities. Just a nice novel, some tea and home-cooked meals. We hope you enjoyed the same home harmony.

Fresh air

But if you want to get out this weekend for some fresh air... We suggest: the Air Supply “Never Ending Love” concert in Hong Kong. That’s right, readers. We know you are the same age range as we are. Enough said on 80s nostalgia songs...The concert takes places this Friday with tickets priced at HK$ 280, HK$ 380 and HK$ 480. The show will be held at Hall 5 BC at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. For details: www.wjhk.com.hk

Paint it red

If you want to paint the town red, the Delta town to do it in this weekend is Zhuhai. The famous Red Ballet troop from Beijing will be, well, painting the town red with their depiction of revolutionary women. Formed during the Cultural Revolution, this is the Ballet troop who wowed former US President Richard Nixon during his 1972 trip to China. It is yet another class act adding to this resort city’s rising tide. There are performances on both Friday and Saturday nights. Tickets go for RMB 180, 280, 380, 490, 580 and 680, respectively. The shows will be held at the Zhuhai Great Hall. For details: 756-2213-220
