Zhongshan delegation suggested Zhongshan section of 105 national highway be whole elevated

Briefing

In the 3rd section of the Eleventh NPC of Guangdong held yesterday, Zhongshan delegation handed in a bill on how to solve the traffic bottleneck in Zhongshan section of 105 national highway, suggesting this section should be whole elevated and brought into key construction projects to settle the heavy traffic problem in western cities of PRD.

As a vital transportation artery and important road in western part of PRD and with daily traffic volume of 60,000 to 70,000 vehicles in 2009, the 105 national highway runs through many cities and connects more than 10 prominent economic towns in western part of Guangdong. With a length of 23.28 kilometers, Zhongshan section locates in the middle part of the national way, however, the traffic efficiency in this section is low due to frequent road crossing within short distance. In order to solve this problem, Zhongshan government plans to take some measures, such as establishing separated interchanges and pavements and so on.
