EVERY effort will be made to mould a burgeoning aviation town as a new calling card for Jinwan’s industrial development, recently declared Chen Jie, secretary of the CPC Jinwan District Committee and the Aviation Industrial Park.
The newly issued Jinwan District New-Round Industrial Development Plan states that Jinwan-Burgeoning Aviation Town will become a world first-class general aviation manufacturing and service base with an annual output value of 21 billion yuan ($3.1 billion) in 2015, 48 billion yuan ($7 billion) in 2020 and 110 billion yuan ($16 billion) in 2025.
The plan stipulates that a new Aviation Town based on Zhuhai Airport, China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, AVIC General Aircraft Industrial Base, and biopharmaceutical, electronics and electric appliances industries will be constructed in five to ten years.
The Aviation Industrial Park has attracted the Yanzhou Light Aircraft manufacturing project, AVIC General Aircraft Industrial Base, Beihang University Micro Engine Manufacture-Learning-Research Incubation Base, Cirrus-General Aviation FBO project, “Dragon 600” amphibious aircraft manufacturing project and others to settle there.
Top priority will be placed on fostering new industries and forming feature industrial clusters centering on biopharmaceutical, electronics and electric appliances, aviation manufacturing and service industries, Chen pointed out.
Construction of AVIC General Aircraft Industrial Base and Cirrus-General Aviation FBO project will be accelerated this year to create an aviation operation and service system. Procedures for the Yanzhou Light Aircraft manufacturing project and China Civil Aviation Flight Calibration Centre Southern Base will be completed in the shortest possible time for an early initiation. Construction of the second-phase Livzon Pharmaceutical facility will be boosted so that the third phase will be launched in the latter half of the year, according to Jinwan District Mayor Du Zhuo, who is also director of the Aviation Industrial Park.
A structure with Jinwan-Burgeoning Aviation Town as the main urban area and six functional sections consisting of the Airport Economy Industrial, Aviation Headquarters Economy, Administration-Culture-Education & Business, General Aviation Operation Outreach, Field & Ecologic and Outreach Conservation zones, has been set for Jinwan District, Du pointed out.
Construction of the Aviation Headquarters Economy Section will be promoted to drive formation of a Sanzao aviation town featuring education and training, cultural promotion, landscaping, public illuminations, outdoor landscape, public facilities and aviation service, Chen explained.
Jinwan District is projected to have a GDP exceeding 22.3 billion yuan ($3.3 billion) with a year-on-year growth rate of 16 per cent in 2015. The estimate is for 38.9 billion yuan ($5.7 billion) with year-on-year growth reaching 12 per cent by 2020. In 2025, Jinwan District is predicted to yield a GDP of 70.1 billion yuan ($10.26 billion) with a growth rate of 13 per cent.
